PREVIEW | Aviva beckons as Munster and Toulouse do battle in Champions Cup quarter-final

The Aviva Stadium hosts the meeting of the European giants this Saturday.

Munster’s quarter-final clash against French side Toulouse takes place on Saturday as Johann van Graan and his side look to further their progression in this years Champions Cup.

Toulouse won the tournament in dominant fashion last year, beating Munster en route to the title, and they are also the reigning champions of the Top 14 league in France.

Their half back pairing of Romain Ntamack and Antoine Dupont is also one of the most formidable sights in rugby, as the two star players led France to a grand slam earlier this season.

However, with the red province’s recent up tick in form since their South African tour, they look to be well up to the challenge that they will face on Saturday.

There has already been north of 30k tickets sold in anticipation of Saturday’s game and it’s sure to be the cracker everyone is expecting.

Munster will once again have Joey Carbery lining out in the No.10 Jersey as he looks to continue on the enormous amount of promise he has displayed in recent weeks.

His captain Peter O’Mahony, will boost the side with his experience and dogged work ethic alongssde the new back row pairing of Jack O’Donoghue and Alex Kendellen who have barely put a foot wrong this season.

Another key to success in this game is be the strength of the red mens defensive line and if they can recreate their second leg performance against Exeter, they will have every chance to steal the tie from the French side

Munster take on Toulouse this Saturday 7 May in the Aviva Stadium at 3pm with the game to be shown on BT Sport.
