Limerick have booked a spot in the Munster football final against Kerry after overcoming Tipperary in Thurles at the weekend
The Limerick football team have made the Munster football final following their 2-10 to 0-10 victory over Tipperary at the weekend.
The side’s twelve year wait came to an end in emphatic fashion as they outclassed the premier county in the second half after the teams went into the break level.
Limerick found the back of the net just eleven minutes in through full forward Josh Ryan as the Treaty man pounced on a rebounded shot from Brian Donovan.
Both teams traded points after this until half time, which finished a first half that lacked any real quality, leaving the score at 1-3 to 0-6 at the break.
Tipperary levelled the game early in the second half before Limerick found the net for a second time punishing Tipperary through none other than Donovan, extending Limerick’s lead again.
Tipp’s challenge was heightened when Sean O’Connel saw black after deliberately taking out James Naughton just as the Limerick half forward had eyes on goal.
The away side kept the scoreboard ticking over from there on in to secure the six point win.
