Round Up | All the results as defending champions Monagea begin defence of Ladies Football title with comfortable win

The 3Dental Ladies Football Championships kicked off on Sunday afternoon across the county.

The Limerick Ladies Football Championships began with a bang on Sunday with games ranging from Senior to Junior B.

In the Senior Championship, the defending champions Monagea welcomed the Intermediate kingpins Drom Broadford to the top tier with a comprehensive 1-8 to 0-3 victory. Last year’s semi-finalists, Old Mill, kicked off their group one campaign with a nine-point win over St Brigids.

In group two, St Ailbes were 2-12 to 0-9 winners over Feohanagh Castlemahon as they look to regain the crown they lost twelve months ago.

In the Intermediate Championship, Murroe Boher were comprehensive in seeing off Knockainey on a scoreline of 4-14 to 0-5.

Galtee Gaels and Athea were winners in the first round of the Junior A Championship. The Gaels had too much for St Ailbes‘ second side, winning out 4-11 to 1-6. Last year’s runners up Athea were made to work but got the better of Groody Gaels on a 2-13 to 1-11 scoreline.

In the East section of the Junior B Championship, Oola beat Croom, Ballylanders received a walkover while Pallasgreen proved too strong for Galtee Gaels.

In the West, Drom Broadford hit twelve goals against St Senans in victory while Monagea defeated Old Mill.

The second round of games take place this weekend.
