The Limerick Celtics Men’s team continued their perfect start to the season with a third successive win.
Both of the Limerick Celtics men’s and women’s teams as well as the Limerick Sport Eagles were victorious over the weekend as the third round of the National League took place.
It was a super Saturday for the county with all of the three sides winning that evening with the Limerick Sport Huskies falling to defeat on Sunday.
The Limerick Celtics women’s got the weekend underway with a convincing 77-47 victory over Marble City Hawks. Adriana Acosta starred, scoring 19 points for the Celtics as they moved into fourth place.
Their male counterparts, continued their unbeaten start as they thumped Killarney Cougars with a score of 111- 52, the highest margin of victory over the weekend. Joshua Reynolds was the star of the show once again, this time with 26 points as the Celtics climb to first in the table level on points with two other sides.
The Limerick Sport Eagles had a successful trip to Waterford as they overcame the Vikings with a 95-72 victory at Carrickpherish Hall. Manny Peyton sunk 36 of the side’s points as they avenged their defeat from last week.
Sunday saw the Limerick Sport Huskies travel to Carlow where they were defeated 60-46 in the only game of the day. The result leaves the side rock bottom of the table with three losses from their opening three fixtures.
The side will all be back in action again next week, with a Limerick derby to look forward to in the Women’s Division One.
