Line ups for 2023 Limerick Hurling Championships confirmed

Na Piarsaigh and Croagh Kilfinny brought the curtain down on the Limerick hurling championship on Sunday with the intermediate finale.

All of the 2022 Limerick Hurling Champions have now been confirmed following Na Piarsaigh‘s win over Croagh Kilfinny in the Intermediate decider on Sunday.

That completed a double for the Caherdavin outfit who were also crowned Limerick Senior Hurling Champions in October as they dethroned Kilmallock in the final.

Na Piarsaigh’s second side will operate in the premier intermediate grade for the first time in 2023. Knockainey go in the other direction after failing to win a game in the PIHC grade.

Monaleen added Munster honours to the Limerick Premier Intermediate championship title they won last month as they return to Senior hurling at the first time of asking. They will replace Blackrock who drop down for the first time since 2019.

St Kierans couldn’t overcome the defending Munster champions Ballygiblin in the provincial decider but will compete in the Intermediate championship in 2023 nonetheless. Last year’s Junior champions Caherline drop back down after suffering relegation in tier maiden year in the IHC.

Bruff’s second side earned promotion to the A ranks after they bested Doon in the Junior B final. They will swap places with Ballybrown.
