HIGHLIGHTS | Munster put Ospreys to the sword in nine-try drubbing

Gavin Coombes continued his exceptional start to 2023 in bagging a hat trick in Munster’s facile win over the Ospreys.

Munster played some superb rugby to make it eight wins in 11 games after a convincing nine-try bonus-point 58-3 win over Ospreys at Thomond Park on Friday night.

Gavin Coombes, Antoine Frisch, Malakai Fekitoa and Joey Carbery touched down in the first half with Coombes scoring two more after the break to complete his hat-trick as Paddy Patterson, Simon Zebo and Shane Daly also got on the scoresheet.

Stephen Myler kicked the penalty as Ospreys moved 3-0 ahead with Munster down to 14 men.

A Carbery penalty moved Munster level and a superb inside pass from Jean Kleyn allowed Coombes race clear and score the first try.

Fekitoa, Frisch and Carbey all crossed in the first half to secure the bonus point and leave the score at 27-3 at the interval.

In the second half, Coombes twice powered over to complete his hat trick with Patterson, Zebo and Daly taking their tally to nine to make it four on the trot in the URC.
