Treaty United claim victory over Kerry FC in 100th outing | Highlights

Returning Treaty defender Guerins slotted the final goal two minutes from time, his back post strike enough to give his side a 3-1 victory.

Goals from Enda Curran and Sean Guerins helped Treaty United win back to back league games, and move to seventh in the table.

It was the 100th competitive game Tommy Barrett’s side had played since their inception, and they won in style, picking up a 3-1 win on home soil.

Kerry FC, who sit at the foot of the table, visited Markets Field on Friday evening, to face the Shannonsiders for the third time this season.

The previous meetings this season had seen Treaty win both 4-0 and 3-2 respectively with the Shannonsiders the favourites for the contest.

The first goal of the game came after 18 minutes, when Marc Ludden whipped a dangerous ball into the area, which was turned in by Kerry defender Ethan Kos.

Another own goal would tie the scores just ten minutes later, this time it was Mark Walsh responsible for the error, and the sides went in level at the break.

With twenty minutes to go, Curran stepped up with a poacher’s finish to send his side into the ascendency.

Treaty are now five points off the playoffs with a game in hand, while Kerry remain rooted to the bottom of the table.

Next up for the Shannonsiders is Waterford on Monday evening, who are currently second in the table.
