Doon are back into the semi-finals for the eighth year running with the Well returning to the stage after missing out last year for the first time since 2014.
Doon and Patrickswell booked their places in the last four of the Limerick SHC on Sunday afternoon as they saw off Mungret St Pauls and Ballybrown respectively.
In the opening game of the afternoon, Doon were made to work by promoted Mungret, eventually pulling away for a 1-25 to 0-21 victory.
It was level at the interval but a timely second half goal from Adam English gave Doon some breathing room as they made no mistake in getting to an eighth successive semi-final.
There they will meet Na Piarsaigh in a repeat of the 2020 decider.
Following that, Patrickswell needed a trio of late goals to move past their parishioners Ballybrown by 4-17 to 1-17 in the TUS Gaelic Grounds.
Cian Lynch, Aaron Gillane and Jordan Higgins all found the net in the final five minutes to end Ballybrown’s season.
After taking a healthy lead into the break, Patrickswell then found themselves level approaching the final five minutes.
However, Lynch stood up to give them a cushion with Higgins and Gillane then supplying the final touches.
It sets up a semi-final against Kilmallock, the pairing that contested the 2021 final.
