Big four remain in the hunt with the pre championship favourites still fancied | SHC Odds

Despite a first round loss to Patrickswell, Na Piarsaigh have never wavered as the bookies favourites.

We are down to the premier four in the Limerick senior hurling championship as the perennial contenders occupy the semi-final spots.

Mungret St Pauls and Ballybrown couldn’t get past their Senior A opponents in last weekend’s semi-finals as we are left with the same four from six of the past seven years.

Limerick SHC semi-finals

  • Na Piarsaigh v Doon, October 14th at 1.30pm/3pm in the TUS Gaelic Grounds
  • Kilmallock v Patrickswell, October 15th at 3pm in the TUS Gaelic Grounds

In the eyes of the bookies, the reigning champions Na Piarsaigh are still the favourites to retain their crown after the quarters. The Caherdavin outfit booked passage straight into the last four from the groups and watched on as Doon got past a spirited Mungret St Pauls outfit. Despite a first round loss to Patrickswell, Na Piarsaigh have never wavered as the bookies favourites.

Kilmallock still remain the best placed to usurp the City outfit and see their price move slightly from 11/4 to 3s. The Balbec, like Na Piarsaigh, were able to watch the quarters from the comfort of the last four but will face a familiar face in the semis where they will meet Patrickswell once again in a repeat of the 2021 decider.

After getting the better of neighbours Ballybrown with a late flurry of goals, Patrickswell see their price remain at 5/1 to win back the Daly Cup for the first time since 2019. The ‘Well are the record holders on 20 but have only won two titles in the last twenty years.

Still seeking a maiden title, Doon are the outsiders of the competition at 9/1 with a host of their regulars still missing with injury. The East outfit have won three on the bounce but their most recent reversal came at the hands of their semi-final opponents when there was 19-points between the sides.

  1. Na Piarsaigh 4/6 (8/11)
  2. Kilmallock 3/1 (11/4)
  3. Patrickswell 5/1
  4. Doon 9/1
