Limerick captain Roisin Ambrose nominated for Junior Player’s Player of the Year

Last month, the Old Mill native was one of four Limerick players named on the team of the year alongside a quartet from Monagea.

The nominees have been announced for the 2023 TG4 Players’ Player of the Year Awards in the Senior, Intermediate and Junior grades.

From runners-up Limerick, captain Róisín Ambrose has been nominated on the back of a consistent season at midfield for the Junior Award.

Ambrose led from the front in leading Limerick back to the final five years after helping the side there in her debut season.

Last month, the Old Mill native was one of five Limerick players named on the team of the year alongside Monagea quartet Grace Lee, Yvonne Lee, Karen O’Leary and Deborah Murphy.

Earlier this year she was named on the Team of the League.

However, Limerick fell to Down by a brace of points and they have their own nominee in Natasha Ferris, who finished the season as leading scorer in the All-Ireland Junior series with 7-31.

Fermanagh’s Blaitin Bogue rounds out the Junior shortlist. Check out the full shortlist for the Senior and Intermediate grades here.

The winners will be revealed at the 2023 TG4 All-Star Awards banquet at The Bonnington Dublin Hotel on Saturday, November 18.
