John Kiely has named his first team of the year, as Limerick prepare to take on Cork in round one of the Co-Op Superstores Munster Senior Hurling League this Sunday.
The game is set to be played in Mallow at 2pm, with the Shannonsiders fielding a new-look starting fifteen against the Rebels.
Dan Morrissey captains the side, the Ahane man being the only starter from July’s All-Ireland win in from the off this time around.
Gearoid Hegarty is the only other starter from that win over Kilkenny involved in the squad, with the St Pat’s man taking up a spot on the bench.
Cathal O’Neill and Barry Murphy saw the field from the bench in the victory over the Cats, and the pair are in from the start for this one.
David McCarthy is set to start in goal, while Emmet McEvoy and Fergal O’Connor flank Morrissey in the full-backline.
Adare’s Ronan Connolly is named at centre-back, with Ciaran Barry and Mark Quinlan selected as the wing-backs.
Colin Coughlan saw plenty of gametime last year, and will be hoping for even more in 2024, with the Ballybrown man chosen to partner Murphy in midfield.
Sharpshooter Micheal Houlihan is in at wing-forward, joining Patrick O’Donovan and O’Neill to complete the half-forwardline.
Kiely has named an exciting full-forwardline, with Monaleen man Donnacha O’Dalaigh complimenting the exciting duo of Shane O’Brien and Adam English.
