ODDS | Kerry favourites for Munster Football title

Limerick lost back to finals in 2009 and 2010, as well as in 2003 and 2004. They have never won the championship.

Munster’s Senior football teams are busy preparing for this year’s instalment of the province’s premier competition. The Munster Senior Football Championship kicks off on April 7, with Limerick, Cork, Tipperary and Waterford all in action.

Jimmy Lee’s men must face Cork in a quarter-final on April 7, a tie where they are 12/1 underdogs, Cork favoured heavily by the bookies at 1/50.

It was a deeply disappointing Allianz League campaign for Limerick, one that culminated with relegation to Division 4, as the Shannonsiders lost all seven of their games.

Having reached the 2022 final, Limerick and Kerry were given places in last year’s semi-final, with the remaining sides battling for the right to meet them.

After narrowly defeating Cork in the quarter-final, Clare booked a clash with the Shannonsiders in the final four, as they ran out three point winners in TUS Gaelic Grounds.

Limerick’s reward for getting over the Rebels would be a semi-final meeting with Kerry, who are overwhelming favourites for the championship at 1/14.

The Kingdom have won the last three Munster titles in a row, beating Limerick in 2022 in Fitzgerald Stadium. Kerry have been involved in 10 of the last 11 Munster finals, winning them all.

Tipperary, who are priced at 80/1 this year, won the title in 2020 when they defeated Cork in Parc Ui Chaoimh.

Limerick lost back to finals in 2009 and 2010, as well as in 2003 and 2004. They have never won the championship, and are priced at 150/1 to win it this year.

Full odds can be seen below.
