Treaty’s Wexford trip subject to pitch inspection

The sides met four times last season, as Treaty failed to win a single meeting. Wexford picked two wins against their Limerick opposition, with the other games ending as 1-1 draws.

Treaty United are in League of Ireland First Division action once more, as they travel to Wexford on Friday night, looking to get back on track after Monday’s defeat to Athlone Town.

The tie, which is set to kick off at 7.45pm in Ferrycarrig Park, is subject to a pitch inspection at 2.15pm following heavy rainfall.

Tommy Barrett’s sit fourth in the league table, having suffered back to back 1-0 defeats to Athlone Town and Finn Harps.

Aaron Connolly’s first half strike was enough to ensure Athlone took all three points on Monday night, and Barrett will be hoping his side can steady the ship against Wexford.

The hosts are sixth in the table, three points behind Treaty with a game in hand, and could leapfrog the Shannonsiders on goal difference, should they win by more than two goals.

Lee Devitt returns from suspension, having served a two-match ban for his red card against Cork City. Corey Chambers is a doubt for the game after missing Monday night’s trip to Athlone due to a hamstring issue. He joins Darren Nwankwo, Callum McNamara and Colin Conroy among the absentees, the trio all currently out due to injury.

Kick off Friday evening is at 7.45pm in Ferrycarrig Park.
