Treaty United welcome Kerry FC to Markets Field for First Division clash

Just three points separate the pair in the league table, although the Shannonsiders have played a game fewer following the postponement of their Longford clash.

Treaty United are in League of Ireland First Division action at the Markets Field once more, as they welcome Kerry FC on Friday evening at 7.45pm.

The Shannonsiders had an excellent start to the season, but have faltered lately, losing three games in a row at the hands of Finn Harps, Athlone Town and Wexford FC.

Tommy Barrett’s side drew with Cork City and Bray Wanderers in the two fixtures before the losing run, meaning they are winless in their last five. Their last victory came on March 1, against none other than Kerry FC!

The Kingdom followed that defeat with a run of five straight draws, before picking up their first win of the season at home to Longford Town last Friday.

This is just the sixth time the sides have met in league play, having clashed four times last season. Treaty won three of the four meetings last year, the highlight a dominant 4-0 victory in Limerick.

Just three points separate the pair in the league table, although the Shannonsiders have played a game fewer following the postponement of their Longford clash.

Enda Curran, David Tarmey, Darren Nwankwo and Colin Conroy are all out for Treaty, while midfielder Callum McNamara is approaching full fitness and may feature on the bench on Friday. Goalkeeper Corey Chambers is a doubt.

It is a special weekend for Treaty United, with the club’s senior League of Ireland Men’s and Women’s teams in action at home on consecutive days.

In recognition of this rare weekend of double action, the club are offering a special double ticket price of just €15 for both games (the equivalent of buy one, get one at quarter the price).

Treaty United fans can enjoy a beer and a burger for €10 at Treaty City Brewery prior to the game Friday, located at 24 & 25 Nicholas St, medieval Quarter, V94 EH57.

Kick off is at 7.45pm in Markets Field, get your tickets here.
