Glasgow Warriors turned on the style last night running in four tries in Scoutstoun to condemn Munster to a 37-10 defeat. The defeat ends Munster’s 100\% start to the season as Glasgow continue to impress under new Head Coach Dave Rennie.
From the beginning of the game, Glasgow looked to spread the ball wide as they sought to make up for the four defeats they suffered at the hands of Munster last year.
Leandro Sarto, who was an early replacement for the injured Rory Hughes, opened the scoring for the Warriors as he crossed the whitewash after a flowing move. Finn Russell added the extras and would go on to score 17 points in the game.
Yet, Munster reacted impressively and after turning down the chance to kick for goal, Rory Scannell touched down in the corner to reduce the gap. Munster had a chance to bring themselves within two points but Scannell missed a penalty.
Finn Russell made no mistake from the tee when he was given his chance and Glasgow further extended their lead before half-time as Lee Jones scored a try to give the Glasgow side a fifteen point lead at the break.
Glasgow began the second period like they started the first and Nick Griggs capitalised on a loose ball to score his sides third try. Chris Farrell responded with a try for Munster but it was to be as good as it got for the men in red.
Glasgow, to their credit, continued to play adventurously in the search of a fourth try and bonus point. This would come courtesy of Scott Cummings after an incredible run from Sarto.
Things would only get worse for Munster as Fineen Wycherly was sent off for a reckless tackle late on.
