Adare bid to progress in Munster Cub Championship

Adare will be looking to progress to the last four of the Munster Senior Football Club Championship when they face Waterford’s The Nire at the Gaelic Grounds this coming Sunday. Last season, Harry Gleeson’s outfit were comprehensively beaten by Nemo Rangers (2-17 to 0-4) at the semi-final stage.

Gleeson’s men came through a serious test in the Limerick SFC Final against Ballylanders and will certainly be primed for a rattle at the Munster competition this time around. Throw in at the Gaelic Grounds for that game is at 3:30pm and it is preceded by Na Piarsaigh’s game with Clonoulty-Rossmore at the same venue at 1pm.

Garryspillane bowed out of the Munster Intermediate Hurling Club Championship last Sunday after falling to a 1-25 to 1-10 defeat to Waterford’s Clonea. TJ Ryan’s side never got going and were down four points at the break. Danny Hayes’ goal did give ‘The Bouncers’ some hope in the second half but Clonea finished strong to advance to the semi final.

Some of the Garryspillane players will be out again in Munster on Sunday again as Galbally make the short trip to Fermoy in the Intermediate Club Football quarter final. Ger Fahy’s side take on the Cork outfit at 1:30pm.
