An injury time goal from Jack English ensured a first every senior county football title for Adare following a 2-10 to 1-10 win over Newcastle West at the Gaelic Grounds.

Adare took a 1-6 t 0-6 lead into the break, before an Ian Corbett goal just after the break levelled up the game.

Newcastle West were leading by a point in the 60th minute, however it was to be English’s injury time winner that made the difference as Harry Gleeson’s side secured the historic win.

Elsewhere, Mungret St Paul’s were crowned County Minor Football Champions following a 1-4 to 0-6 win over Monaleen 0-6. While the Junior A Football Championship semi-final between Croom and Kilteely-Dromkeen ended in a draw 1-7 apiece.
There was heartbreak for Murroe/Boher in the AIB Munster Intermediate Club Hurling Championship Quarter-Final as they lost out to Kilmaley of Clare 1-20 to 0-22 after extra time.
