Adare seek Limerick SFC semi-final spot with a game to spare against Ballylanders in refixed clash

Tonight’s game has huge implications at both ends of the group two table in the senior football championship.

There is one rescheduled Limerick Senior Football Championship game to be played this evening with Adare and Ballylanders facing off in Kilmallock at 6.30pm.

The fourth round tie will begin an exciting week of football where the knockout spots and relegations play-offs in each championship will be confirmed.

Tonight’s game has huge implications at both ends of the group two table in the senior championship. Adare know a win will see them into the semi-finals with a game to spare and simultaneously ensure Ballylanders face into the relegation play-offs for the second year running.

Ballylanders need a result to preserve their safety to the final round of games this weekend. Adare aren’t assured of their progression yet, despite winning their opening three clashes but a draw would be enough for a quarter-final berth at the least.

Adare have dominated the fixture in recent years, winning a pair of county finals in 2018 and ’20, as well as a quarter against the South outfit in their first year back at the grade in 2017.

So far, Adare have accounted for Monaleen, Na Piarsaigh and Galtee Gaels while Ballylanders have been beaten by Galtee, Monaleen and Ballysteen.

John O’Halloran will take charge of the game this evening.
