Adrian Enright named on GAA.ie Team of the Week after scoring exploits against Cork

The Abbeyfeale man was in scoring form as Limerick fell just short against Cork on Sunday.

Adrian Enright is Limerick’s sole representative in this week’s GAA.ie Football Team of the Week following an inspirational performance against Cork in the All-Ireland qualifiers.

Unfortunately for Enright and co, his four point salvo wasn’t enough with Limerick falling to a 2-18 to 1-16 defeat that prematurely ended their season.

Cork have three players named on the team, as do Munster rivals Clare and Armagh with each of that trio progressing to the knockout stages.

Enright was clinical in the first half in slotting over three fine efforts during a period where Limerick were guilty of missing a number of chances.

He added to that with a brilliant score that brough the sides within two following Brian Donovan’s goal.

But Cork hit back with a goal that ultimately ended Enright’s intercounty season that had already delivered promotion to Division Two for the first time in 16-years.

Mayo, who join Cork, Clare and Armagh in the last eight have a pair chosen while there is one each for Roscommon, Kildare and Donegal.
