All four senior GAA sides in action this weekend

Each of the four Limerick senior teams are back in action this weekend. The last time the four sides all played in the one weekend, each came away with a victory and management will be hoping for similar results this time around.

After a hugely impressive victory over Kilkenny in Nowlan Park last week, the senior hurlers welcome Cork to the Gaelic Grounds on Sunday.

John Kiely’s side come into the game in flying form and have won each of their opening three Division 1A games with the side performing better each week-on-week.

Since their loss to Clare in the Munster Championship last summer, Limerick have won seven consecutive games in league and championship, while Cork picked up their first win of the League against Clare last Saturday evening.

Declan Nash’s camogie team also have a 100% record in the league which was continued against Dublin last time out.

That win guaranteed their progression to the knockout stages. They host Kilkenny this weekend with the winner to top their group.

The victors of this game will face either Galway or Cork in the semi finals as they meet this weekend to determine the outcome of their group.

Limerick will be full of confidence as they welcome the Cats but will be wary of a side who have appeared in the past three All-Ireland Finals, winning in 2016.

The Limerick v Kilkenny camogie game takes place at the Gaelic Grounds at 12:15pm on Sunday and is part of a double header with the hurlers.

The ladies footballers look to get back to winning ways when they travel to Fermanagh for round three of the league.

Limerick got their season off to the perfect start with a win over Louth in Askeaton in a repeat of the All-Ireland Junior Final.

They were defeated by Carlow the following week and have had some to reassess in the wake of that loss.

John Ryan’s side face a Fermanagh side who have two wins from two in the league and were 11-point victors over Derry last Sunday.

However, a win for John Ryan’s side will put them right back in contention for promotion from Division 4.

As for Billy Lee’s senior footballers, they welcome Leitrim to Kilmallock this Saturday at 3pm.

Limerick opened their campaign with two consecutive wins over London and Waterford but came unstuck against Wicklow in Aughrim a fortnight ago.

Leitrim have three wins from three and look poised for promotion. A win for Limerick will put them level with the Connacht side with promotion from the bottom tier a big priority this season.
