All-Ireland champions Ardscoil Rís kick off Harty Cup campaign on Wednesday

The North Circular road school won a maiden All-Ireland title on St Patricks day.

For the first time in their history, Ardscoil Rís will kick off their Harty Cup campaign as All-Ireland champions when they meet Cashel on Wednesday afternoon.

Cappamore will host the clash of schools at 1.30pm in the City school’s first game since being crowned All-Ireland champions.

Ardscoil Rís however are not the reigning Harty Cup champions, having lost last years’ final to Tulla before going on to beat St Kierans college in the All-Ireland decider.

The North Circular road school are in Group C alongside St Flannans and Cashel Community School. Ardscoil are the final team in the group to begin their season after receiving a bye in round one.

Cashel kicked off their campaign a fortnight ago with a thrilling victory over St Flannans as they secured a 5-12 to 2-20 win in Cappamore.

Ardscoil will conclude their group stage on November 16 when they play St Flannans with a win on the day enough to advance, regardless of the result on Wednesday.

There is a full round of fixtures in the Harty Cup this Wednesday.
