All-Ireland champions Ardscoil Rís set to learn 2022/23 Harty Cup opponents today

The North Circular Road school are Limerick’s only representatives in this year’s competition.

Ardscoil Rís will learn their opponents for this year’s Dr Harty Cup later today with the draw to take place on Thursday afternoon.

Last year the City school were beaten finalists in the Harty Cup final, losing to maiden winners St Josephs Tulla.

But Ardscoil had the final say in the competition as they regrouped to win a first ever Dr Croke Cup (All-Ireland) title, beating St Kierans College Kilkenny at the fourth attempt.

Previously, they had been beaten in the finals in 2010,’11 and ’16.

Ardscoil are Limerick’s only representative in this year’s 16-team competition.

The City school are one of four seeded teams alongside St. Josephs SS Tulla, Thurles CBS and De La Salle College Waterford.

Gaelcholáiste Mhuire, A.G., Midleton CBS, Nenagh CBS, Our Ladys Templemore, Pobailscoil na Trionide Youghal, St. Colmans College Fermoy, St. Francis College Rochestown, Christian Brothers College, St. Flannans Ennis and Cashel Community School are the other sides.

There will be two groups of four teams and two groups of three. The top two teams qualify for the Quarter-Finals.
