Ballynanty Rovers Learn Route to Possible FAI Junior Cup Final

Ballynanty Rovers will travel to Kerry in the quarter-final of the FAI Junior Cup as they take on Killarney Celtic. The ties will take place on the weekend ending March 5th.

Ballynanty reached the last 8 of the competition following a 0-1 win over Old County FC of Dublin last weekend. Aidan Hurley scored the winning goal with a header from a James Fitzgerald corner and Hurley had made no secret of his desire to win the national trophy before he retires when he spoke to Adrian Finnin and Aidan Ryan on ‘Limerick Junior Soccer Focus’ three weeks ago.

The semi-final draw was also made and that will see the winners of Killarney and Ballynanty travel to the winners of the fixture between Clare outfit Newmarket Celtic and Crumlin United/ Sandyhillshangan FC. Ballynanty Rovers last reached the FAI Junior Cup Final in 2014 where they were defeated by a Jason Purcell inspired St. Michaels at the Aviva Stadium.
