Mungret St Pauls top the group after round one as they had 18-points to spare against last year’s semi finalists. In their second year in the grade, the City side had the only goal of the first half through Niall Mulcahy as they led 1-13 to 0-4. Second half green flags were raised by Barry Duff (2) and Brennan Giltenane as they started their campaign with a bang.

Barry Adams netted with the first goal as they took a 1-8 to 0-5 lead into the interval. All-Ireland winner Aidan O’Connor got their second and they didn’t look back to secure the two points.
