BREAKING | Limerick secure home advantage for Munster U20 Hurling Final with Tipperary

The decision was made on Thursday morning following a coin toss.

Limerick will have home advantage as the TUS Gaelic Grounds was confirmed as the venue for next Wednesday’s U20 Munster Hurling Championship final with Tipperary.

The decision was made after the sides agreed on a coin toss to decide the venue.

It will be Limerick’s second successive Munster U20 final after they beat Waterford in a dramatic tussle on Wednesday evening.

Last year, they were defeated by Cork in Pairc Ui Chaoimh, as the Rebels went on to claim All-Ireland honours.

However, Cork’s defence of their championship came to an end last evening when they were beaten by Tipperary who are seeking a first title since they beat the Rebels in the first U20 Munster final in 2019.

This will be Tipp’s fourth Munster final appearance since 2018 while Limerick have competed in four since they ended a 13-year gap in 2015.

Limerick are yet to win the competition since it was altered to U20 in 2019. This will be the first meeting of the sides since 2018 where Tipp had nine points to spare over the defending champions.

Limerick were last crowned U21 Munster champions in 2017 when they defeated Cork in the Gaelic Grounds.
