Castleconnell Boat Club Junior crews headed up the Shannon, to compete in the Carrick on Shannon Sprint Regatta last weekend.
Over 170 crews, from 13 clubs from around the country competed in the regatta with events available for all, from Junior 12 to Masters rowing.
Carrick Regatta is raced over 450m and crews enjoy this distance on the Shannon as they wind down from Julyโs Irish Rowing Championships, which was raced over 2000m at the National Rowing Centre in Cork.

Castleconnell Boat Clubโs Junior sculling program ended a very successful season with 13 wins in the following events at Carrick-on-Shannon;
WJ12 1X , WJ14 1X, WJ14 2X, WJ14 4X-. WJ15 1X, WJ15 2X, WJ15 4X-, WJ16 2X, WJ16 4X, WJ18 1X, WJ18 2X, MJ12 1X, MJ18 4X-
Carrick Regatta also hosted the final leg of the Waterways Ireland Boys & Girls Junior 15 & Junior 14 League, which has also taken place at Limerick Regatta, Carlow Regatta, Castleconnell Sprint Regatta, Athlone Regatta and Fermoy Sprint Regatta. The winning crews being those with the highest points over 4 of the 6 Regattas.
Castleconnell junior quads took home the honours and finished top of the league in 3 of the 4 league events:
WJ14 4X-, WJ15 4X-, MJ14 4X-.
