The Newcastle West native had his best season in green and is recognised as such.
Following a brilliant 2022 League and Championship campaign, Limerick’s Cian Sheehan has been nominated for an All-Star.
The Newcastle West man is the only Limerick representative on the 45-man shortlist.
All-Ireland champions Kerry dominate the list with 12 players shortlisted. David Clifford is also among three in the running for the Footballer of the Year award.
Galway pair Shane Walsh and Cillian McDaid are the other nominees.
The full breakdown of nominations are Kerry 12, Galway eight, Derry seven, Dublin six, Armagh five, Cork two and one each for Clare, Kildare, Limerick, Mayo and Monaghan.
Sheehan is recognised after an outstanding season where he helped Limerick to a second promotion in three years as well as a Munster final spot.
Relocated to wing back, Sheehan hit the ground running for Limerick and was sensational during the league campaign as Limerick secured a place in Division Two for the first time since 2007.
He played his part in the victories over Clare and Tipperary in helping Limerick to a first Munster final in twelve years. Defeat was Limerick’s lot in the final but Sheehan kicked three points on the day and was named on the GAA.ie Team of the Week.
Limerick’s season came to an end against Cork in the All-Ireland qualifiers.
Sheehan follows in the footsteps of club mate Iain Corbett who was nominated in 2020. He was the first Limerick representative since John Galvin in 2010.
The PwC All-Stars take place on October 28 in Dublin’s National Conference Centre where the hurling team will be announced on the night with the football team to be revealed the day before.
