Comfortable Munster League win for Limerick against Kerry

Limerick’s senior hurlers earned their first win of the 2019 season on a 4-14 to 0-11 scoreline against Kerry in the Co-op Superstores Munster Senior Hurling League.

John Kiely’s charges had first half goals from David Reidy and Oisin O’Reilly, while Graeme Mulcahy and Barry Murphy raised green flags late on.

Limerick made a superb start to the game when Reidy finished off a fine move for the first goal inside 60 seconds. O’Reilly then followed up with the second goal two minutes later.

As conditions worsened, Limerick struggled to break free from a gallant Kerry effort and led by 2-4 to 0-6 at the break.

However, the All-Ireland champions went up several notches in the second half with Mulcahy and Murphy goals sealing 15 point win.

Limerick head away for their team holiday a few days after Christmas before preparing for their Allianz Hurling League Division 1A campaign that begins with a trip to Wexford on January 27.
