Shanagolden’s Chris Hayes currently sits inside the top four jockeys of the flat jockeys championship and notched up his 38th winner of the season at Sligo on Wednesday. Hayes was given the leg up on the Lee Smyth trained Glenbank King which made all in the 1m4f contest and hung on by a neck to deny well-backed Acclamatio.
Hayes further added to his tally at Leopardstown on Thursday where he partnered the Claire Cannon trained Innamorane to victory in the 20 runner, SMOKIE Handicap. The former course and distance winner had a neck to spare and struck at the inviting odds of 12/1.
Ballingarry jockey Billy Lee enjoyed one of his biggest career success at this year’s Royal Ascot aboard a David Marnane trained charge and once again teamed up with the Bansha based handler with great success at Tipperary on Friday. Cracking Name had previously reigned supreme at the course in August of 2017 and repeated that feat courtesy of a three-quarter-length success in the Tipperary Races Handicap at odds of 8/1.
The good times kept on rolling for recent recent Galway Plate winning rider Mark Enright on Saturday as Judgement Day won the Kieran Kelly Memorial Beginners Chase at Kilbeggan on Saturday. The Henry de Bromhead trained six-year-old was beaten favourite last time out but suffered no such disappointment this time around as he obliged at odds of 9/4 in the colours of Gigginstown House Stud.
