A 67th minute try from Tom Farrell saw Munster fall to a 20-16 loss at The Sportsground on Friday evening in their inter-provincial derby clash with Connacht.
Simon Zebo gave Munster an early lead within five minutes, following a fine break and offload from Rory Scannell.
Ian Keatley added 3 more points from the boot on seventeen minutes before Connacht hit back through Tiernan O’Halloran six minutes later, his try was converted by Jack Carty to cut Munster’s lead to three.
After that both sides traded penalties through the boots of Keatley and Carty to leave the score at 13-10 going into the break.
Carty levelled the game up just after the fifty-minute mark, while the game took a massive turn ten minutes later. Andrew Conway was sent off for elbowing Carty in the head as he attempted to block down a kick from the fly-half.

Munster managed to regain the lead despite being down a man, through a converted JJ Hanrahan penalty. However, the lead was to be short-lived as Tom Farrell touched down under the posts to ensure a big win for Kieran Keane’s men.
