Coonagh United Announce New Management Team

Limerick District League Premier Division club Coonagh United have announced a new management team ahead of the new 2022/2023 campaign. The club have appointed Ian Connolly and Paudie Hickey as A team managers. They will replace Keith Doran and James O’Neill who guided the club to Premier Division safety last year. Coonagh are entering their fourth season in the top flight since promotion in 2018.

The club thanked the previous management team before welcoming the new duo.

“As we enter our 4th consecutive season in the LDL Premier League, we are pleased to announce the appointment of Ian Connolly and Paudie Hickey as A Team managers together with Jay Hickey as A Team coach for the 2022/2023 season. We would like to put on record our sincere Thanks to Keith Doran and James O’Neill for their work with the A Team over the years.”

It is not the only managerial change to take place in the Premier Division with runners-up Fairview Rangers also appointing Paul Danaher to the role of manager following the departure of Jason Purcell. Purcell led Fairview to both FAI and Munster Junior success during his second stint in charge of the club where he won numerous honours as a player.

Charleville and Carew Park will join the Premier Division this year and will be led by Adam Castle and Albert Slattery respectively following successful campaigns in Premier A. Geraldines and Kilmallock were relegated after a prolonged spell in the top flight. The season is due to begin on August 16th.
