Crescent College and CBC name their teams ahead of today’s Munster School’s Senior Cup semi-final

The defending champions look to return to the final when they take on one one of Cork’s powerhouses in Musgrave Park this afternoon.

Christian Brothers College and Crescent College Comprehensive have both named their teams ahead of today’s Pinergy Munster Schools Boys Senior Cup semi-final at Musgrave Park (KO 1.45pm).

The match will be live streamed by The Irish Examiner and will be available here with commentary from Darragh Frawley, Jonny Holland and Duncan Williams.

Crescent College Comprehensive are the defending champions after beating CBC’s Cork rivals PBC in last year’s final in Thomond Park. Jed O’Dwyer, Joe McEnery, Mark Fitzgerald and Jack Somers remain in the starting XV from the 2022 decider.

CBC were last champions in 2020 when they shared the honour with PBC after the final was cancelled due to Covid-19. The previous year they defeated PBC in the final to move one clear in the roll of honour.

They have 31 overall titles, one ahead of PBC. Crescent College are Limerick’s most successful side with 12 triumphs with St Munchins on five, their most recent coming in 2006. They take on PBC in Wednesday’s other semi-final.

The two schools have named their sides ahead of Tuesday’s clash as they both look to book a place in the final.
