Danny Neville looking forward to Championship opener

Ballysteen and Ballylanders kick off their respective Limerick SFC campaigns in a repeat of last years dramatic quarter-final where after battling back from nine points down, Ballysteen lost out to a last minute Jimmy Barry Murphy goal.

For Ballysteen’s Danny Neville, revenge wont be a factor come Saturday but instead the focus is on the win and getting a off to a good start to the championship.

“We’ve had some good battles over the years, it’s always tight, hopefully this time we can come out on the right side of it.”

Danny Neville in action against Ballylanders in last year’s quarter final.

A member of the Limerick Senior football panel for the past number of years, Neville has been a notable absentee from Billy Lee’s squad this spring with the forward outlining his reasons for this as he finishes a masters in primary school teaching.

A return to the fold is not being ruled out whatsoever though from the talented forward.

“The boys are doing very well this year. Made some steps forward which is good and hopefully will be back in again next year to go at it.”
