Four Limerick schools learn their Dr Harty Cup group stage opponents

There will be a Limerick derby in Group E as John the Baptist Hospital are paired with Castletroy College.

The draws for the 2023/24 Dr Harty Cup have been made with four Limerick schools involved.

Five time winners Ardscoil Rís are joined in the top tier by Castletroy College, Scoil na Trionide Doon and St John the Baptist Hospital.

As one of the seeded teams, Ardscoil Rís are in group C with St Flannans Ennis, De La Salle Waterford and Ballincollig.

Doon are in group A with Midleton CBS, Rice College and Christian Brothers College.

There will be a Limerick derby in Group E with John the Baptist paired with Castletroy College alongside Carrick On Suir.

In the Harty Cup, there are 21 teams competing this year with the top two in each group advancing. The top team in Groups A, B and C will advance straight to the quarter finals alongside one of the other group winners (3 team groups).

The remaining two winners as well as the six runners up move into the preliminary quarters.

The competition kicks off on Wednesday October 11th.
