Four uncapped players included in Irish Squad for November Internationals

As well as the uncapped players, Simon Zebo has been left out of the squad for the three fixtures

Earlier in the week, it was announced that Simon Zebo will leave Munster at the end of the season, with a club in France his likely destination. Today, Joe Schmidt has named a 38 man squad for his side’s Autumn internationals against Fiji, South Africa and Argentina and the Cork winger has been omitted.

Along with Zebo’s omission, Schmidt has included four uncapped players in the form of the Munster pairing of Darren Sweetnam and Chris Farrell, Connacht’s Bundee Aki and Leinster’s Adam Byrne.

Ireland’s first game in the 2017 Guinness series is against South Africa on the 11th of November, then Fiji the following Saturday before finishing the series on the 25th against Argentina at the Aviva.

Ireland Head Coach, Joe Schmidt, commented, “In what we anticipate will be an incredibly physical Guinness Series plenty will be demanded of the squad. We have retained a core of experienced players but have also included a number of promising players that we hope will acquit themselves well.”
