Fr Casey’s and Monaleen secure SFC semi-final spots while Claughaun relegated | Football Round Up

Following the weekend’s action, we now know the final four across the top four divisions, although there is one Junior A spot to be filled.

It was a busy weekend across the Limerick football championships, with a number of games being played in each of the top four tiers.

Following the weekend’s action, we now know the final four across the top four divisions.

Na Piarsaigh’s four goal display wasn’t enough to get the better of Fr Casey’s, who put up 3-15 in Askeaton to earn their place in the semi-finals.

Their reward is a meeting with group two winners Adare, who won all of their five group games, with the tie to be played on October 21st in Neville Park.

Monaleen also progressed to the semi-final stage, where they will meet Newcastle West. They picked up a two-point win over Kildimo Pallaskenry, with their goal proving crucial for a finish.

Their clash with Newcastle West is fixed for October 22nd in Neville Park.

There was also drama at the other end of the championship over the weekend, as Ballylanders got the better of Claughaun in the Senior relegation final, sending them down to Intermediate level for 2024.

Elsewhere, in the Intermediate championship, semi-final pairings were confirmed as both Dromcollogher Broadford and Rathkeale picked up one-point victories.

Mungret St Paul’s await Rathkeale in the final four, the tie to be played in Askeaton on October 21st. Dromcollogher Broadford will play St Senan’s the same day, the clash scheduled to take place in Newcastle West.

Cappagh and Feenagh Kilmeedy picked up quarter-final wins in the Premier Junior championship, while Athea‘s victory sent Bruff down to the Junior A grade for next year.

In the Junior A championship, Ballybricken Bohermore defeated Monaleen in a goal-laiden quarter-final, while Castletown Ballyagaran’s clash with Camogue Rovers was postponed, and will be played on Tuesday.
