Geraldines AFC to play Joe Purcell Tournament final at the Markets Field

Geraldines AFC to host 2017 Joe Purcell Tournament final at the Markets Field.

Geraldines AFC will once again host the long running Joe Purcell Memorial Tournament on Sunday August 13th. The tournament is named after club stalwart Joe Purcell who gave sterling service to the club.

The competition is also part of the club marking 80 years of football under the tower. To mark this milestone, this year’s final will take place in the hallowed turf of the Markets Field in association with Sporting Limerick and with the cooperation of Limerick FC.

The format of the tournament will see both semifinals taking place in Garryowen – Geraldines B versus Abbey at 11:30am followed by Geraldines A versus Athlunkard Villa at 12:45pm. The final will then take place at the Markets Field at 2:30pm.

Following the final he presentation of the trophy and medals will take place in the Track Bar at 6pm, with music from 6pm to 8:30pm provided by Guilty Pleasures.
