The group stages came to a close in the Limerick SFC over the weekend while there was drama for All-Ireland champions Kilcoo. The Cork SHC final pair were also decided while the quarter finals took place in Clare and Tipperary.
Munster were defeated yet again the United Rugby Championship, this time by Dragons in a surprising defeat.
There was action in soccer for the Ireland national team and Treaty United with the Boys In Green suffering defeat while the Limerick outfit settled for a stalemate.
NFL continued this weekend with 28 sides in action for week three of the new season.

GAA
The final six in the Limerick SFC were confirmed with Adare and Newcastle West straight into the semi-finals.
St. Finbar’s and Blacrock booked their places in the Cork Premier Senior Hurling Championship final after their semi-final victories. Finbar’s were 2-25 to 0-20 victors over Newtownshadrum while Blackrock defeated Erins Own 3-21 to 0-21 to set up the first final between the two sides in 40 years.
Kilruane Macdonaghs, Upperchurch Drombane, Drom-Inch and Kiladangan make up the last four in the Tipperary SHC after their quarter-final triumphs while Cratloe, Sixmilebridge, Ballyea and Éire Óg Ennis made the semi-finals of the Clare edition.
In football, Rhode became Offaly SFC champions, beating reigning champions Tullamore by a solitary point.
Current All-Ireland champions Kilcoo suffered a penalty shoot-out scare in their quarter-final but scraped through to make up the last four of the Down SFC.
Rugby
Munster made it consecutive defeats in the URC on Sunday against Dragons, with the province falling to a 23-17 defeat.
Soccer
Treaty United came from behind to secure a 1-1 draw away to Longford Town in a game where the side could’ve came within a point of their opponents in the Airtricty First Division. Enda Curran continued his rich run of goal-scoring form, hitting the back of the net minutes before the interval.

The Republic of Ireland were on the losing side against Scotland in the UEFA Nations League, falling to a 2-1 defeat despite being ahead in the first half.
John Egan’s impressive volley after eighteen minutes was the reward for Ireland’s dominant first half with the Boys in Green looking to repeat their June feat against the Scots. However, a sluggish second half saw the side concede twice at either end of the half as they stumbled to defeat in Hampden Park.
The side now sit on four points in group one of League B, with bottom side Armenia next up for Stephen Kenny’s men.
NFL
Week three of the NFL took place this weekend with fourteen games taking place.
Tom Brady’s Tampa Bay Buccaneers fell to defeat against the Green Bay packers with the score ending 12-10.
There was a shock defeat for the Kansas City Giants as they were beaten by the Indianapolis Colts while the New England Patriots were also defeated by the Baltimore Ravens.
