The Garda National Economic Crime Bureau have carried out searches assisted by members of Limerick Gardaí at Hogan Park, Rathbane in relation to an investigation into match fixing.
The news broke late on Tuesday evening on the Garda info Twitter page.

No specific details about the investigation have yet been released but it is believed that documents and electronic devices were seized and will be studied.
Certain Limerick FC matches have been clouded with allegations of match fixing on occasion this season with little evidence on show. However, national bookmakers Paddy Power have suspended betting during the Shelbourne and Limerick game at Tolka Park earlier in April.
It remains to be seen whether Tuesday’s search has anything to do with Limerick FC or if it is a separate matter.
