Graham ‘G-TRAIN’ McCormack rolls on to 3-0

Raheen boxer Graham McCormack ended a nightmare week where grieved for both his best friend and father in law by recording his third professional win on Saturday night at Good Counsel GAA Club in Dublin.

McCormack scored a 40-37 points victory over Bulgarian Rodislav Mitev on the Celtic Clash 6 card.

The proud Limerick man spoke to Sporting Limerick following the bout, dedicating the win to the memory of his dear friend Patrick O’Callaghan and father in law Pat Healy.

“I feel great after a good performance on Saturday. We had a game plan going into the fight and I stuck to it. It was a great victory, not only for me but for Pa’s family Pat’s family and for all of Limerick.”

The Treaty southpaw established his range early in the fight and really found his feet in the later rounds scoring a flash knockdown in the third round as he caught Mitev off balance.

This was arguably 30-year-old McCormack’s best performance to date as he continues to progress under the guidance of coaches Eddie Hyland and Tommy McCormack.
