Hehir and Rooney Leave Treaty United

Treaty United Senior Women’s and U-17’s managers Dave Rooney and Irene Hehir have today left their roles at the club with Treaty United expressing their gratitude to the pair.

Dave Rooney was in charge of the Treaty United senior women’s side in their maiden season in the Women’s National League. He led the club to a 9th place finish in the league along with an FAI Cup Semi-Final appearance which they lost 2-0 to Cork City. Rooney had a wealth of experience due to his involvement with Limerick FC at both senior men’s and women’s level in the past decade.

The club announced his departure on their official Twitter page:

Irene Hehir was in charge of the U-17’s team for the 2020 campaign but had also been heavily involved in women’s soccer in the mid-west region for a number of years. Rooney and Hehir were at the forefront of improvements in the women’s game in the region.
