Highlights | Doon made to work for SHC semi-final berth by determined Kildimo Pallaskenry

The East side reached the final four of the Limerick SHC for the sixth successive season.

Doon booked their place in the semi-finals of the Limerick Senior Hurling Championship with a 1-20 to 0-19 win over Kildimo Pallaskenry in Kilmallock on Saturday.

Kildimo Pallaskenry led by the narrowest of margins at the half but a blitz after the half pulled Doon clear as they held on for the remainder of the contest.

Dean Coleman got the all important goal with twenty to play but it was the contributions of Patrick Cummins who bagged 0-5 from wing back and Adam English who was brought on after half time that made the difference.

Shaun Barry was unerring from frees for Kildimo Pallaskenry and hit over 0-13 over the course of the afternoon with the City side leading 0-9 to 0-8 at the interval.

It was a first half where All-Ireland winners Kyle Hayes, Darren O’Connell and Barry O’Connell all got on the scoresheet.

But Doon’s response after the half was impressive, Cormac Ryan levelling before Adam English hit a pair of frees. This was followed by Coleman’s goal as Doon raced 1-13 to 0-9 clear.

Kildimo Pallaskenry refused to lie down and approaching injury time they were within one with Hayes, Cathal Downes, O’Connell and Barry all finding the target.

But English and finally Cummins steered Doon home and into the semi-finals.
