Ireland fell to a 56-15 Six Nations loss against France on Saturday at Donnybrook’s Energia Park.
The visitors showed their class from start to finish to prevent Ireland from building on last week’s 45-0 hammering of Wales.
Winger Caroline Boujard bagged a hattrick last weekend and crossed the whitewash twice in Dublin to inspire her side to a convincing victory. Emilie Boulard, Cyrielle Bane, Safi N’Diaye and Romane Menager also registered scores for Les Blues on a long afternoon for Adam Griggs’ girls in green.
Ireland did score twice on the day. Cliodhna Murphy scored from a maul drive and Emma Hoban added a late consolation with the game already well out of reach. In truth, France were comfortable throughout and demonstrated the standards Ireland must aspire to going forward.
The prize of third spot will be on the line when Ireland take on either Italy or Scotland this weekend.
