HIGHLIGHTS | Galway take advantage of Limerick indiscipline to pick up Gaelic Grounds League win

Galway inflicted Limerick’s second successive defeat of the season on Saturday evening.

Galway took full advantage of Limerick’s indiscipline on Saturday evening to record a 0-27 to 1-18 win in the TUS Gaelic Grounds.

Aaron Gillane’s early goal had Limerick two clear at the half but slowly the contest shifted in the visitors favour after Gearoid Hegarty was sent off early in the second half.

The sides were deadlocked for the eleventh time with ten to play but seven unanswered down the stretch for the Tribesmen was enough to secure the victory with both sides now getting a week off after back to back games.

There were some positives for Limerick, who were much improved from their round one performance against Wexford, with Cathal O’Neill in particular very impressive.

Attention will now shift to Cork who await in round three as Limerick seek a first win of the League.
