It was a valuable point for Limerick that maintains their survival hopes into the penultimate round of the competition.
Limerick got their first Division 2 League points in sixteen years on Sunday afternoon when they held Meath to a 0-17 to 2-11 draw in the TUS Gaelic Grounds.
The hosts were full value for a four-point lead at the break but were reeled in by a pair of Meath goals who will feel like they left it behind them with a couple of missed chances late on.
Similarly, Limerick will rue goal opportunities where they instead opted for points with their final point a huge chance to raise a green flag.
Nonetheless, it was a valuable point for Limerick that maintains their survival hopes into the penultimate round of the competition. Ray Dempsey’s side had scorers from ten different players, including three from the bench.
James Naughton kicked off the scoring and was joined by Hugh Bourke, Cathal Downes, Brian Donovan, Cian Sheehan and Cillian Fahy in the first half where Limerick led 0-10 to 0-6.
Adrian Enright, Paul Maher and Davy Lyons made scoring contributions from the bench with Donovan the man to provide the leveler in the 71st minute.
With a two-week break to the meeting with Kildare in the sixth round, check out the highlights from the draw with Meath.
