John Kiely’s men had scores from eleven different players in the comprehensive fourth-round victory in Mullingar.
The result was never in doubt in TEG Cusack Park on Sunday afternoon as Limerick cruised to a 1-27 to 1-15 win over Westmeath in the fourth round of the National Hurling League.

Conor Boylan had the games opening goal in the first half which Limerick finished 1-14 to 0-5 in front. It was a half where the full forward line of Peter Casey, Donnacha O’Dalaigh and Seamus Flanagan all contributed a brace from play.
The Monaleen native finished the day with 0-5, matching the total of Tom Morrissey who also added four from placed balls in the victory.
The second half saw the return of Aaron Gillane as he fired over with a brilliant first time strike. He was joined in the scoring stakes by Diarmaid Byrnes and Cathal O’Neill, both bagging a brace in their seasonal debuts.
Westmeath rallied with a Niall O’Brien penalty but substitute Aidan O’Connor rounded out the scoring on his league debut.
Up next for Limerick is Wexford this Sunday in the TUS Gaelic Grounds where anything other than defeat will ensure a league semi-final berth.
