Highlights | Limerick Senior Hurling Championship 3rd Round

An early Shane O’Brien goal set Kilmallock on their way to a third successive win to start the campaign as they held off Kildimo Pallaskenry in Newcastle West.

The favourites all got the job done in group one o the Limerick Senior Hurling Championship over the weekend, although the big three of Kilmallock, Patrickswell and Na Piarsaigh picked up their respective victories in differing manners.

The Limerick GAA TV cameras were at the three top tier games and you can check out the highlights below.

Patrickswell 2-16 : 2-13 Ahane

A late fightback from Ahane just came up short as Patrickswell regrouped for a second win in the Limerick SHC.

Jordan Higgins got the City side off to the perfect start, netting for the first score of the game in a half where scores were at a premium.

Ahane were reliant on Tom Morrissey frees where they trailed 1-7 to 0-5 at the interval. An exceptional team goal that was finished by Aaron Gillane gave the Well a seven point cushion shortly after the restart.

Morrissey kept the scoreboard ticking over and then found the net with a brilliant effort that reduced the gap to just two. His brother Paddy raised a green flag with five to play to leave the minimum between them but it was Patrickswell who had the final scores for the win.

Kilmallock 1-17 : 0-13 Kildimo Pallaskenry

An early Shane O’Brien goal set Kilmallock on their way to a third successive win to start the campaign as they held off Kildimo Pallaskenry in Newcastle West.

O’Brien was fortuitous in his goal the slitter appearing to hit off his hand and bounce into the KP net which was enough for a 1-6 to 0-7 lead at the interval.

KP did level early after the interval, Ciaran McMahon striking over in the 37th minute. But from here it was one way traffic and led by O’Brien who finished with 1-4, Kilmallock streaked home to maintain their place at the top of the table.

Breen had the first after six minutes with Boylan doubling that for a 2-4 to 0-4 lead. Donal Coughlan had a fine score in response but the next came from Lynch, as he finished following excellent work from David Dempsey.
