The Munster A’s defeated the Connacht Eagles last Friday 36-21 at the UL 4G pitch.
In the thick of an action packed international window, Johann Van Graan’s Munster A side took on the Connacht Eagles at the UL 4G pitch on Saturday in what was a high scoring encounter between the two sides.
Munster’s Diarmuid Barron opened up the scoring for the men in red, only to be followed by a second try from Liam Coombes. It didn’t take long for Connacht to get points on the board as back-row Abraham Papalii crashed over for the visitors, his try was converted by Clare native Conor Fitzgerald.
Munster hit back when an uncharacteristic handling error from Fitzgerald allowed Coombes to gallop in for his second score of the game, which Munster A’s out-half Jake Flannery converted.
Munster kept the pressure on with another try from Barron, in an almost identical fashion to his first, Barron crashed over from the back of a dominant rolling maul. Munster’s Jack O’Sullivan followed with a maul try of his own not long after.
Connacht flyer Ben O’Donnell got his side on the board again, breezing over the Munster line once before crashing over a second time not long after. However an score from Munster’s Declan Moore would seal the deal for the home side.
