Homecoming confirmed for the Limerick Ladies Footballers

There will be live music, a food truck, coffee, teas and much more at the West Limerick club on Monday evening.

The Limerick Ladies Footballers will be welcomed back to the county this evening as they fell just short in their quest to win the Junior All-Ireland title on Sunday afternoon.

The team will return to Old Mill, the home of captain Roisin Ambrose this evening from 6pm.

There will be live music, a food truck, coffee, teas and much more at the West Limerick club.

In Croke Park, Limerick were to rue missed chances as Down scored the only goal of the game with fifteen to play as Orla Swail’s green flag proved crucial.

They make an immediate return to the Intermediate ranks while Limerick will hope to build on reaching the final next year.

Speaking after the game, manager Graham Shine spoke of his pride in the players and has no doubt that his team will be back.

“They’re devastated, they have put in ferocious work and it’s been a massive year. I hope we can keep them together, they are very young with a few outliers, but I’m hoping they can stay together. They will be back.”

But for now, the Homecoming will allow the Limerick faithful to pay tribute to a team that has provided so many good days this year.
