Intermediate Football Championship Game of 2020 – Claughaun v Gerald Griffins – Final

It may not have been a game for the football purists but Claughaun won’t care a jot as their 0-10 to 0-7 victory over Gerald Griffins sees them return to the senior ranks.

The Hoops were fully deserving of their victory against a Gerald Griffins side that were never allowed get going. It was the west side’s second final defeat in successive years.

Griffins led 0-2 to 0-1 early doors but five points on the bounce saw Claughaun in full control. Griffins only managed one more score in the half.

Claughaun maintained their advantage going into the latter stages and comfortably navigated their way to victory and a return to the senior ranks for the first time since 2010.
